Operation Licences
In additon to the Quality Certification issued by the TÜV Rheinland Portugal, the Unidade Tecnológica de Radioesterilização (UTR, Tecnological Radiosterilization Unit) has other licences:
- Operating Licence under the scope of Radiological Protection, dated 17-02-2022, issued by Agência Portuguesa do Ambiente (APA), LIC-135/21, Process nº 1083-F, in accordance with decree-laws n.º 165/2002 (competences of bodies involved in the field of ionizing radiation protection) and nº 38/2007 (control of sealed radioactive sources).
- Dosimetry Certificate, dated 11-10-2017, issued by Laboratory for Measurements of Technological Doses (LMTD/Poland), accredited by Polish Centre of Accreditation: attesting the "First phase of the dose intercomparision exercise conducted to improve QA/QC procedures in radiation processing" under the framework of TC Project RER/1/017 (IAEA).
All equipment operated in the UTR is properly calibrated/licensed by accredited entities (IPAC ISO/IEC 17025).
